of keely thorne events
Althea and Kyle are an incredibly fun couple who wanted to have a beautiful and romantic wedding but keep it grounded, fun, and Texan! They picked an amazingly gorgeous venue in the west Texas town of Marfa, and all of our inspiration was drawn from there.
The save the date was the first hint of the entire event, and we wanted it to be simple and at the same time speak to the fact that this wedding was not just a one night party, but an entire weekend of fun and celebration. We chose offset printing and gold foil on 110# pearl white lettra for the actual card, and paired it with a string tie kraft paper envelope.
Althea and Kyle were open to having something different for their invitation, so among other designs, when we met with them for the invitation design review, we showed them a full hand lettered accordion fold invitation and they immediately fell in love. The invitation folds up to a 5x7" kraft paper booklet that had their monogram foil stamped in white on the cover. As you open it, their gold foil hand lettered (by Loveletterer) invitation unfolds. At the top of the invite, is a custom watercolor based on the view from their venue. On the last panel of the invitation, are gold photo corners which held the reply postcard. The set folded up and fit into a beautiful soft textured arturo envelope with an amazing watercolor map of Marfa.
Their day of items were fun as well! Knowing full well an outdoor wedding in August in Marfa was going to be hot, we quickly decided on a fan program, pulling in the watercolor sunset from the invitation and adding a line drawing of the ceremony location. We did an accordion fold welcome letter to tie back into the format of the invite. And of course, a custom wooden cake topper!
